Michelle Grace Hunder is an Australian photographer based in Melbourne, with her own studio and creative space in Footscray.
With now almost 15 years experience, 2023 saw Michelle shoot her first Rolling Stone cover with Amy Shark, and win an ARIA award for "Best Cover Art" for the Forest Claudette EP “Everything was Green.”
Michelle has two separate portrait series in the National Sound and Film Archive of Australia and is considered one of the most revered Australian Music Photographers.
After the 2014 release of her highly anticipated photographic book- "RISE", a detailed insight of her personal journey into the world of Australian Hip-Hop, both Australian and international artists began requesting her talents to photograph both live performances and portrait images, used for press, publicity and album covers.
After shooting with literally every major player in the Australian Hip-Hop scene, Michelle then spent four years on a major personal project called "Her Sound, Her Story" celebrating Women in Australian Music, across all genres, which produced a full length documentary and portrait series, which premiere with huge industry acclaim in 2018.
Joining the creative team that is responsible for the visual representation of Australian artist Ruel in 2017, the last few years have seen Michelle produce all of the press shots, album and single covers and all live performances for the young musical prodigy.
If you are wanting to learn more about being a professional music photographer, Michelle has created an Online Masterclass. This course we will go through the different pathways to shooting both small and major shows, how to build your portfolio and how to take the next step by charging for your work and maybe even touring the country with an artist > https://www.mghmasterclass.com
Michelle has been proudly supported by Nikon since 2020, being an offical Nikon Z Creator, shooting with the Nikon Z6 and Z6ii.
